This is a region of contrasts. Wild, windswept garrigue, where cigales sing and buzzards circle lazily against a blue sky, and acres of sandy beaches for swimming, windsurfing, or just lazing in the sun. Situated in a strategic position halfway between Carcassonne and Narbonne, within easy reach of both the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, the Corbières have a lot to offer.

If you want to know more about the events of May 1968, come to Camplong d’Aude on 24 May 2008. The festivities start with films and a debate and continue (naturally) with a demonstration, to finish with a dance in the evening. Food and drink available. See the website for more details.
